GAD 250 , Fall 2018 Formal Business Report: The Case for Cleveland
Completed report
Your assignment is to use all the business communication skills you’ve learned so far to write an authoritative business report to the CEO of your dream company. Your mission is to first, persuade him or her to open an office, factory or branch in Cleveland, and second, convince him or her that you are qualified to play a key role in the expansion (as relates to your career pursuits/desires and experience thus far).
You will be making recommendations both about the city and about your qualifications for the job, that will lead the CEO to the obvious conclusion that you are right on both counts (not to mention smart, good-looking, and the perfect candidate for the position).
Note: The goal is to convince a company you are highly interested in pursuing with NO PRESENCE IN CLEVELAND CURRENTLY, to:
A) Create a presence in Cleveland
B) Select YOU to play a key role in the expansion—a role that relates to your career goals upon college graduation and workforce entry. This component does not require much research—just some solid, compelling, supported arguments.
You will research the company and the Greater Cleveland market using both secondary and primary sources. You will analyze your data, line up your arguments, and recommend a course of action, just as executives do in the real world.
The report must be 10 pages, typed and double-spaced, using 12 pt Times New Roman. The title page, content page, work plan, sources count toward 10.
Report particulars:
· All facts must be cited following MLA style. You need at least three sources.

· Your report will be organized by criteria and will take the direct approach or indirect approach, depending on the anticipated initial perspective of audience (CEO)
