1)The Public Policy Institute of California surveys Californians regularly to gauge public opinion on a variety of issues. Click on the link below to look at their latest report.

 

A) Discuss two different public opinions identified in the survey (example: how do Californian’s feel about health coverage?) and B) Articulate your position- are you in the minority or majority compared to how others in California view that issue.

2)The Democratic Party and Republic Party are the two dominant political parties in the United States (and in California). Go to the links below to look at both the California Democratic Party website and the California Republican Party website. Find issues that each party supports (hint- they are usually called platforms). 1) Explain one issue per party and 2) Discuss whether or not you agree with their position on that issue.

Browse through the list and find an interest group that supports a cause you believe in (for example: education, environment, health etc.).
